Four Generation of Sahaabah

The bounty of Aafiyat is such an immense bounty which Siddiq-e-Akbar
the greatest of all Sahaabah, whose four generations had the honour and privilege to
accept Islam and be included among the Sahaabah, his father, Abu Quhaafah was a
Sahaabi, as was Hadhrat Siddiq-e-Akbar, his son, Abdur Rahmaan bin Abi Bakr
and his son as well. This honour was not enjoyed by any other Sahaabi. He was the
sole individual honoured with the companionship of Allah's Messengerصلى الله عليه وسلم
in the cave of Thaur. They were friends from their very youth. History records
the fact that Siddiq-e-Akbar was sixteen years old and Allah's beloved
Messengerصلى الله عليه وسلم was eighteen, from that period did friendship between
a Nabi and a Siddiq begin. Such an elevated and a worthy Sahaabi is being
commanded by Allah's beloved Messenger to supplicate,

''O Siddiq! Supplicate to Allah Ta'ala for Afwu and Aafiyat.''

By this instruction can one well determine the value and worth of these two
qualities.

The Dream of Hadhrat Abu Bakr

Listen to an incident pertaining to this after which I will complete the talk
because time is limited.

Allamah Jalal-ud-Deen Suyuti has recorded the special station of Siddiq-e-Akbar
in (Khasaa'is-e-Kubrah, vol.1, pg.29) wherein he states, ''When Hadhart Siddiq-
e-Akbar رضى الله عنه was a young man and had proceeded to Shaam (Syria) on
business, he was visited by a dream the interpretation of which he sought from a
monk. The monk asked him, مَن اَنتَ 'Who are you'? He replied, 'Abu Bakr'.
After which he was asked, مِن اَىِّ بَلَدٍ 'From which city do you hail?' from
Makkah Mukarramah,' he replied. 'What is your occupation?' was the next
question posed. 'I am a trader,' was the reply. The monk then said, 'The
interpretation of your dream is this,

''Allah Ta'ala will send a messenger in that city of yours
whose blessed name will be Muhammadصلى الله عليه وسلم .''

''You will be his minister during his lifetime and his deputy after his demise.''

It is recorded that Hadhrat Siddiq-e-Akbar kept this concealed from everyone.

''He did not tell anyone.''

Life continued until he reached the age of thirty-eight and Allah's
Messengerصلى الله عليه وسلم reached the age of forty and was blessed with
revelation which he announced. Hadhrat Siddiq-e-Akbar began
enquiring,

''What is the proof of that towards which you invite?''

''The dream you saw while in Shaam.''

And which you have divulged to no individual is the proof of my Prophethood.''

Allah Ta'ala had, by means of Hadhrat Jibra'eel عليه السلام, informed His
It appears in this narration :

فَعَانَقَهُ وَقَبَّلَ بَينَ عَينَيهِ
''He hugged him and kissed him between the eyes.''

Hadhrat Siddiq-e-Akbarرضى الله عنه went into a state of extreme joy at the appreciation
of the lofty level with which his friend was endowed due to which he hugged Allah's
beloved Messengerصلى الله عليه وسلم and kissed him between the eyes.

This brings us to the conclusion of the talk. We beseech Allah Ta'ala to accept it and
grant all of us the ability to act upon what was said.

Those moments of my life which have passed in Allah's Remembrance
Only those moments are the real purpose of my life
