In the Name of Allah,
the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
The Polish of Zikrullah
What does one have to do in order to secure this condition?
One has but to apply the polish of Zikrullah's light on the heart !
Due to the application of magnetism on the tip of the compass's
needle, it ever remains attracted to true north while the direction
of a million tons of steel which has no magnetism can be changed
at will. North or south, east or west, whichever direction one wants,
one can change it to. Yet that simple little needle's direction cannot
be changed no matter how much one tries. Similarly, this little heart,
if polished with the light of Allah's remembrance, then by the bless-
ing thereof, it will constantly incline and remain attracted to the source
of light, the Being of Allah Ta'ala. Allah Ta'ala will constantly draw it
towards Himself.
The Prize of Mujaahadah
Yes! I was in the process of elaborating on the commentary of
Mujaahadah which has already been dealt with. The question
that now needs to be answered is, what is the prize, the reward
of Mujaahadah? Considering the fact that difficulty is encountered
and tolerated during Mujaahadah, something should be received
in return.
On seeing the excellent substitute, Meer will repent.
What is the excellent substitute? Allah Ta'ala has stated :
لَنَهْدِ يَنَّهُم سُبُلَنَا
''We will definitely open the doors of guidance for them.''
Surah Al-'ankaboot : 79
The Mufassireen have mentioned two commentaries in relation to
this which are: (Tafseer Mazhari Vol.7, pg 216)
''We will open innumerable doors leading to us.''
The plural of 'Sabeel' (path) is 'Subul' (paths) and the plural established
by Allah cannot be contained or enumerated due to it being unlimited.
The plural has no limits at all. Thus, it means, ''We will open innumberable
doors leading to Us.'' We will, in other words, pave the way for him till he
reaches Our very Being.''
The second commentary is :
وَ سُبُلَ الوُصُولِ اِلى جَنَابِنَا
''And We will connect him to our court.''
Sair-ilallah- Journeying Towards Allah
And Wusool Ilallah- Union with Allah
In other words, ''We will make him, Waasil billah.'' One aspect is Sair-
ilAllah, moving towards Allah while the other is the Taufeeq to ponder
deeply on the Being and Qualities of Allah and thereby enter His Court.
These are two different aspects. One is journeying towards Allah while
the other is entrance into His Court and witnessing Him. This is termed
Wusool-ilAllah, the state where in one attracts absolute connection due
to which one is favoured with the perfect manifestation. Whereby He
enables one to taste the pleasure of His special closeness. This is the
commentary of :
What an immaculate commentary has been rendered by Allamah
Aaloosiرحمه الله عليه who was a Sahib-e-Nisbat Buzrug, he enjoyed
a special connection with Allah Ta'ala, as did Allamah Shaami. These
people were Sufis. They were individuals who engaged in, (الله الله) in the
remembrance of Allah Ta'ala and had formally become Bay'at. In the
commentary of :
He states that Allah Ta'ala is saying , ''When you have made Mujaahadah
to this extent, We will acknowledge you as Our sincere servant. There is no
longer any insincerity in your intention which has become pure. We, therefore,
are also with you .'' Take a worldly example. If someone, while enjoying tasty
dishes at one's expense claims sincere friendship with one, one will not buy his
talks until he is put to the test during some difficulty and proves to be true to his
claims of friendship. Only after he passes such tests will one acknowledge him
as a true friend.
