Du'aas in the month of Ramadhan 2

In the Name of Allah,
the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Du'aa When Intending to Fast

Nabi صلى الله عليه وسلم has said : There is a blessing in
taking a meal a little before dawn. Never fail to do so.
If nothing else is available, then drink even a draught
of water, for Allah bestows His mercy on those who
eat and drink at that time and angels pray for them.
                             ( Musnad Ahmad, Mariful Hadis)

said : Only distinguishing factor between our fasting
and that of the other people of the Book is Sahri,
(that is Christians and Jews who do not eat pre-
dawn breakfast).
                                        (Muslim)

I Intend to fast the following day as a current
performance of the obligation of Ramadhan
in the present year for Allah Most High

Du'aas When Breaking Fast

said : The people (Muslims) will remain on the right path
as long as they make haste in breaking the fast (immed-
iately after the sun has set and the time to pray after break-
ing of fast has arrived).
                                      (Bukhari and Muslim)

used to break his fast before offering Maghrib (evening)
salaat with some pieces of fresh dates, failing which, with
dry dates, and failing that too, he صلى الله عليه وسلم would
drink a few mouthfuls of water.
(Abu Dawood and Tirmizi cited this and latter
called it sound)

O Allah, I fasted for You and I believe
in You and I break my fast with Your
sustenance.
It was reported from Muas bin Zuhra رحمة الله  that indeed
it reached him, Rasoolullah صلى الله عليه وسلم used to say the
above du'aa at the time of Iftar.
                                                    ( Abu Dawood )

It was reported by Abdullah bin Umar رضى الله عنهما that
Rasoolullah صلى الله عليه وسلم read this du'aa when he broke
his fast,

The thirst has vanished, veins have moistened
and the reward is confirmed, if Allah wills.
                                (Abu Dawood)

say : Indeed at the time of Iftar the fasting preson's du'aa
will not be rejected.
Abdullah bin Abi Mula'ika رضى الله عنه says that I heard
Abdullah bin Amr رضى الله عنهما used to say this du'aa at
the time of Iftar

O Allah, I beg You through Your Infinite Mercy
which surrounds all things, to forgive me.
                                     (Ibn Majah)

When Making Iftar at Someone's House

Sa'ad bin Ubaida رضى الله عنه thus he brought bread and raisins
( for Rasoolullah صلى الله عليه وسلم ) thus he ate and then said,

May fasting people breaking fast by you
and pious people partake of your food
and may the angels invoke Allah's
blessing on you.
