''My capacities I know from experience''
O Allah! Our physical limitations, our weakness we are well aware of.
Our intentions we have, over and over experienced to be deficient.
We are weak for You have referred to us as such:
Considering the fact that the whole of man is frail and weak, then even
a portion of him will also be weak. Intention is but a portion of him. It
is therefore, not surprising for a weak entity to break. This is why it
appears in the Hadith Shareef that one who repeatedly makes Taubah,
who from the depth of his heart makes intention not to return to sin but
still finds his Taubah breaking and his being involved in sin, is not
included among those who are insistent upon sin. In other words, he
is not persistent and stubborn on sin.
Allamah Aaloosi As Sayyid Mahmood Baghdadi states in the
commentary of :
that one form of persistence is in terms of Shariah while the other is in
terms of the dictionary meaning. Persistence according to the dictionary
entails for example, the commission of a sin ten times by a person. Such
a person in terms of the dictionary meaning will be called one who is
persistent on sin. But the Shar'i definition of persistence is :
on the contrary, if an individual does seek forgiveness and does repent,
then even if this is repeated a thousand times over, he will not be
included among those persistent on sin. Let us come to terms with the
fact that with repeated sinning we can get tired of sin but Allah Ta'ala
never gets tired of forgiving no matter how often it may be.

خُلِقَ الِانْسَانُ ضَعِيفًا
''Man has been created weak.''
Surah Nisa Ver. 28
Considering the fact that the whole of man is frail and weak, then even
a portion of him will also be weak. Intention is but a portion of him. It
is therefore, not surprising for a weak entity to break. This is why it

مَااَصَرَّ مَنْ اِسْتَغْفَرَ وَ اِنْ عَادَفِى الْيَومِ سَبْعِيْنَ مَرَّةً
''A person is not considered insistent who seeks
forgiveness even though he returns thereto,
seventy times in a single day.''
( Mishkaat pg. 204)
Allamah Aaloosi As Sayyid Mahmood Baghdadi states in the
commentary of :
وَلَم يُصِرُّو عَلى مَا فَعَلُوا
''And they did not persist on what they did.''
that one form of persistence is in terms of Shariah while the other is in
terms of the dictionary meaning. Persistence according to the dictionary
entails for example, the commission of a sin ten times by a person. Such

اَ لاِ قَامَةث عَلَى الْقَبِيحِ بِدُونِ الاِسُتِغفَارِ وَالتَّوبَةِ
''To remain firm on some evil without turning to seeking forgiveness and repentance.''
(Tafseer-e-Ruhul-Ma'ani ; Vol.4 pg.61)
on the contrary, if an individual does seek forgiveness and does repent,
