An-Nawawi 40 Hadith 1 - Saad Al Ghamdi

Whatever religious practices we do, it must be done for Allah Ta'ala's
sake. In Surah Haj : 37, Allah Ta'ala says :  

لَن يَنَالَ اللهَ لُحُومُهَا وَلاَ دِمآؤُهَا وَلَكِن يَنَا لُهُ التَّقْوَى مِنكُم

It is neither their meat nor their blood that reaches Allah, 

but it is piety from you that reaches Him.

Whatever each and everyone has in our hearts Allah Ta'ala knows it.
So it's important that one tries to keep one's heart as clean and pure as
possible, so that we can get sawab (reward) for our deeds and actions.
Whatever we do we should do it to gain the pleasure of Allah. If we do
it for some other worldly reason then that will not bring any sawab.

Before Fath'hi Mecca (Victory of Mecca), the sahabas were allowed
to do hijrath (migrate).Those who did hijrath for Allah and His
Rasool صلى الله عليه وسلم then he will be rewarded in the Akhirah
(hereafter) also,One Muhajir migrated to get married to a woman,
when the sahabah heard this they informed Rasoolullah صلى الله عليه وسلم
then he said the above hadith.

InshaAllah by checking our intention at the beginning, in middle and in
the end of our actions, we can correct our intentions(i.e.to do every
action for only Allah Ta'ala's sake). This is very important because
without correct intention  non of our deeds will be accepted by Allah
Ta'ala and in the Day of Qiyamah (resurrection) we will be at a loss. 

MashaAllah these 40 Hadiths are presented to us in a very beautiful
